To the IEX Cloud community,
As we work together to stay safe and healthy given the developments of coronavirus (COVID-19), the global market is also seeing historic volatility.
We realize this volatility may be impacting the way you use financial data, including how you use IEX Cloud. To help you navigate this, we wanted to highlight a few key points about U.S. stock data on IEX Cloud:
When the S&P 500 index drops a certain percentage from the previous dayʼs close, a market wide circuit breaker can trigger a halt of all trading in the U.S. equity markets. You can use the DEEP Market Status endpoint to check for a halted status. No credits are required to use this endpoint.
Since minute-by-minute data is not generated when the market stops trading, the Intraday Prices and Historical Prices endpoints will return null or zero for many minute-by-minute data fields. The Quote and Delayed Quote endpoints will return the last available data before the market halted.
In certain cases, when the market is trading at unusually high volumes, there may be delays in IEX Cloud processing and populating minute-by-minute data for our Intraday Prices endpoint. We appreciate your patience and understanding as systems work to backfill this data for you.
While our team at IEX Cloud is practicing social distancing by working from home, weʼre able to operate the IEX Cloud platform remotely on a fully electronic basis. As always, our support team is here for you at support@iexcloud.io if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
The IEX Cloud Team
